The Strength of California Is Its People – Including YOU!

What does strength really mean? We're confronted daily with a version that’s loud, mean, overbearing, and has sadly taken hold of too many Americans. But we believe true strength is different – it’s about building, nurturing, and creating communities where people feel safe, hopeful, and able to thrive. 

Every day, we see this strength in action. In Catalyst California’s staff, who represent our state’s diversity and work tirelessly for equitable solutions. In our advocacy and organizing partners who wrestle with entrenched power structures and systems built to slow or halt progress for our communities. Most of all, in the people most harmed by the old, tired beliefs who labor the hardest to dismantle them. 

And we see it in our supporters, whose contributions are a testament to a belief in our shared vision for a better future. Even though the Beloved Community that Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of is a ways away, it is within our reach if we all do our part. 

Working with our trusted partners, we use our strengths to undo racist policies and create new ways to think about policy and budgeting that strengthen our democracy.
