Jeremy Payne
Manager of Political Voice
Jeremy Payne is the Manager of Political Voice at Catalyst California. He supports collaborative efforts, technical support, and policy research and analysis to strengthen our democracy by advancing policy changes that eliminate racial disparities and institutional barriers to authentic public participation in decision-making and increase the representation of low-income communities and communities of color.
Before joining Catalyst California, Jeremy served as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst for the California Department of Justice - Civil Rights Enforcement Section, where he worked to address a broad array of civil rights issues, including, but not limited to, the study and development of reparation proposals for African Americans in California and the investigation of police misconduct and racial profiling. Prior to that he served as the Associate Program Director for Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, and as the Production Director for HSG Campaigns, a nationwide political consulting firm committed to helping Democratic candidates, labor unions, environmental organizations, and other progressives achieve their election goals.
Jeremy received his Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. He enjoys attending concerts, exploring new restaurants and bars in Los Angeles, and spending time with his partner and their senior dog.
