As the Senior Manager of Research and Data Analysis, Leila conducts research, analysis, and creates visualizations to measure racial disparity used in the fight for equity. She works with program staff at Catalyst California and community partners to develop effective data-based research tools to support community voices. She has contributed to many of Catalyst California’s initiatives since 2011, among them RACECOUNTS.org, the Student Equity Need Index, the Power-Building Opportunity Index, and community-engaged research around civic engagement in Los Angeles. Her work includes using a combination of administrative data, such as Census data, and focus group or survey data to create impactful maps, charts, and other visualizations. 
 
Leila earned her master's in public policy from Baruch College, City University of New York and her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. She is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and New Orleans.
